About the programme

The Bachelor’s degree programme in International Business at Centria UAS provides our students with a strong base of business skills and tools to manage businesses in intercultural environments. The curriculum is designed to provide the skills and expertise versatilely for the business field. If you are interested in working for an international company or in international positions and business environments, this degree programme is aimed at you.

Centria’s BBA studies are very practically oriented. You will start from the basics, so you don’t need previous business studies or experience. You will study subjects such as economics, business law, accounting, marketing, sales and customer service. You will also study languages and communication to ensure you have sufficient skills to work in international positions. You will get to know business processes that include foreign trade, planning and launching new businesses. Your courses include HR, strategic and environmental management. You will also study research and development-related subjects to support you with your thesis during the last study year. You can also join different research, development and customer projects, where you can put your skills into practice.

Our profiling studies consist of: Creative Marketing, Global Business, Tourism and Event Management. During these studies, you will concentrate on various subjects, such as B2B and e-commerce marketing, social media, international logistics, exhibitions, events and fairs.

Studies are in English in blended format, meaning, you will have contact teaching in classroom, online classes and project work. We have daytime online classes twice a week and contact teaching on Campus Allegro in Pietarsaari once every two weeks. Studies require both independent and groupwork in a multicultural environment.

Centria co-operates closely with working life. Experts visit our lectures, and we also organise company visits in our area. Our projects provide an excellent opportunity to show your know-how and get a summer job in one of the companies. The studies also include practical training, during which you really get to know your potential future employers.

Our degree in international business gives you readiness to work in various positions. Most of our alumni work in private companies, however there is demand for experts also in the public sector. You may work in sales, marketing, development or financial management, just to mention a few possibilities. Some of our students have started a company, and they work as entrepreneurs.
